Church Membership

For many, church membership can be an uncomfortable topic because of past church experiences. Too many churches treat it like some kind of country club membership. "Join up to get a key to the church and a vote on issues in the church."

However, we see being a member of the local body as part of the extension of being a member of the body of Christ as described in
I Corinthians 12: 22-27. When someone accepts Jesus as Leader and Forgiver in your life, you are adopted into His family. Church membership is part of this process.

Brochure on Church Membership at The Shepherd's Fellowship

Once someone decides they would like to be a member of The Shepherd's Fellowship and communicates with us (see brochure), they are asked to go through a short video series that goes deeper into Biblical membership. Here is a link to that YouTube playlist.

Then they set up a time with Pastor Tom to get coffee so we can talk, Pastor Tom can answer any questions, and once the potential member is comfortable they become a member.

Membership is a covenant relationship and we want to make sure we present a Biblical understanding as
we welcome in new family members!
